Race report by János Birinyi
The 2nd round of the Hungarian Tamiya cup was held in Budapest. Both the carpet and the controlled tire at this event was unfamiliar to me. In this series the Euro GT was the closest category to me, which is actually the Modified category. Unfortunately I couldn't participate in the practice, before the race day and I only had a 5 minutes practice run before the qualifying rounds. This time the car was equipped with a 10.5T motor and an ESC with adjustable timing. I just planned to use this race for testing because other cars had 4.5-5.5 motors and more power.

Qualifying runs: The first run was surprise as I missed the first place with a 0.4 second gap and I ran the fastest lap. I could win the second qualifying, but unfortunately in the third I missed the TQ by 1.3sec with my 10.5T motor.

I was waiting for the finals with P2 on the grid. I knew that I had the only chance to win if I could take the lead right after the start and use the stability of the car and defend the leading position with precise driving through the final. Unfortunately I couldn't take the lead due to lack of power so I finished all three finals in the second position. There was only one exciting moment in the second final when I made a mistake and fall back to third, but with precise driving I fought back to second. I think the car performed well at this new carpet and with Sweep 32 tires and this is a decent result.
